Dr. Rizwan S. Akhtar MD

I am Dr. Rizwan S. Akhtar, a board-certified neurologist practicing in Chicago, Illinois. With over a decade of experience, I specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. My expertise includes managing conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, and sleep disorders. I completed my medical education at the University of Alabama School of Medicine, followed by an internship in internal medicine and a neurology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where I also pursued a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine. Dedicated to providing comprehensive neurological care, I am affiliated with multiple hospitals, including Northwestern Medicine-Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Good Shepherd Penn Partners Hospital.
