I’m Dr. Todd McGrath, a sports medicine specialist at HSS with expertise in general sports medicine, acute orthopedic injuries, and minimally invasive office procedures. My practice incorporates advanced techniques such as bedside ultrasound imaging for precise joint and soft tissue injections, chronic tendinopathy treatments, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. I also specialize in managing sports-related concussions, performing biomechanical assessments for runners and cyclists, and conducting exertional compartment pressure testing, with a particular focus on endurance athletes.
I earned my medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine and completed my emergency medicine residency at Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at Cone Health System in Greensboro, NC. Throughout my career, I have served as a team physician at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, as well as a medical director for cycling and international soccer events. In addition to clinical practice, I am an active researcher and speaker in sports and emergency medicine, particularly in musculoskeletal ultrasound.
As an endurance athlete myself, having competed in national and international triathlon events, including the Ironman World Championships and ITU Long Course Triathlon World Championships, I bring a unique perspective to treating athletes. My goal is to provide personalized, evidence-based care to help patients optimize their performance, recover effectively, and maintain long-term musculoskeletal health.
